Which charts are free for a company product? Prices and terms of High●●●rts, Apex●●●rts, AG Ch●●ts and am●●arts, and the MIT and Apache options, as of 2026-10-22.

Chart library licenses fall into three groups: open source that is free even for commercial use (MIT, Apache-2.0), conditionally free licenses that turn paid past a threshold, and commercial licenses you pay for from the start. Everything below was checked on the official pricing pages and license texts as of 2026-10-22. Prices are in US dollars per developer, before tax, and can change.

High●●●rts

Commercial use is paid, internal screens included. Prices are for Core (the basic charts); Stock, Maps and Gantt are bought on top.

Product (per developer)Internal, annualInternal, perpetualExternal, annualExternal, perpetual
Core185425366839

Core + Maps2505744941,133
Core + Gantt2225104391,007
Core + Stock + Maps + Gantt4431,0188762,010
  • Internal covers in-house use only; SaaS/External covers one public app. Up to five external apps is SaaS+ (Core $1,099 a year).
  • Prices rose about 5% between January and February 2026: Wayback Machine snapshots show $176 / $349 on 2026-01-03 and $185 / $366 on 2026-02-10. We found no official announcement.
  • An annual license must stop being used when it lapses. A perpetual license keeps working, but new releases need a valid Advantage plan.
  • Non-commercial use (such as education) falls under separate terms; check the official license page.

Apex●●●rts

Since v5.0.0 (on npm 2025-07-09, announced 2025-06-26) it uses its own license, not MIT. v6 (2026-07-17), v7 (2026-08-25) and v8 (2026-10-09) followed; the latest is 8.4.1. Its official llms.txt says "No product is open source or unconditionally free". Many older articles still call it MIT.

TierPrice (annual, per developer)Includes
CommunityFree if the organization's revenue, operating budget and funding are each under $2M; otherwise $19925+ core chart types
Pro$349+ ApexGrid, ApexTree, ApexSankey
Premium$599+ ApexGantt, ApexStock and Premium-only features such as Waffle, Raincloud and Trellis
OEM$14,999 per appRedistribution in products and platforms others use
  • The $2M test adds up parent and affiliated companies. The 2026-10-01 license edit widened it from revenue to "revenue, budget or funding".
  • Embedding it in a product or platform others use (your SaaS customers' screens, delivered solutions) needs OEM whatever your size; only non-interactive static charts are exempt.
  • When a license key expires, paid features show a trial watermark.
  • Prices have not changed from 2025-08 to 2026-10.

AG Ch●●ts

  • Community is free under MIT. Zoom, crosshairs and heatmaps are Enterprise features.
  • Enterprise is $499 per developer (perpetual license plus a year of updates), or $1,498 bundled with AG Grid Enterprise. Prices did not change from 2025-01 to 2026-06. Deployment licenses and renewals are in the EULA, not on the pricing page.

am●●arts 5

Free under a "linkware" condition, commercial projects included, as long as the logo link stays; a commercial license removes it. Prices have not changed from 2025-01 to 2026-10.

light●●●ght-charts

The license text is Apache-2.0, but its README and NOTICE require a Trading●iew attribution and a link to tradingview.com on a page users can see; the attributionLogo option draws a logo link in the chart and satisfies it. It is the most used free choice for candlestick charts today.

To●●t UI Chart

MIT, but the GitHub repository was archived on 2026-09-02 and the last release is v4.6.1 (2022-12-21). The license is fine; the maintenance is over. See Moving from To●●t UI Chart.

82chart

MIT. No license key, no watermark, no revenue threshold and no paid tier; zoom, crosshair, annotations, export, Korean units and accessibility are all in the free core. Products you deliver or redistribute only need the LICENSE text. Features are compared on the comparison page.

Frequently asked questions

Is Apex●●●rts still free?

Conditionally. As of 2026-10-22 the Community tier is free while the organization's annual revenue, operating budget and funding (parent and affiliates included) are each under $2M; past that it is $199 per developer a year and up. Embedding it in a product others use needs OEM ($14,999 per app a year) at any size. It has not been MIT since v5.0 (July 2025).

Can I use High●●●rts for free?

Commercial use is paid, internal screens included: Core is $185 per developer a year for internal use and $366 for an external app (after the February 2026 increase), with Stock, Maps and Gantt on top. Exceptions such as non-commercial education are separate terms.

Which chart libraries are free for a company product?

82chart, Chart.●s, Re●●arts and AG Ch●●ts Community (MIT) and EC●●rts (Apache-2.0), without conditions. light●●●ght-charts is free with a Trading●iew attribution, am●●arts with its logo link. For Korean products that also want 만·억 units, zoom and export for free, 82chart.

How do MIT and Apache-2.0 differ?

Both allow commercial use, modification and redistribution. MIT is short: keep the copyright and permission notice. Apache-2.0 adds a patent grant, asks you to mark changed files and to ship the NOTICE file if there is one.

Can an open-source chart library become paid later?

A project can change the license of new versions (Apex●●●rts did at 5.0). Versions you already received under MIT generally stay usable under those terms, so pin versions and check the LICENSE file whenever you upgrade.
